Beginning on December 31st, 2021 EMS Providers holding Current Kansas EMS certification can apply for “Inactive – Ineligible to Practice” staus on their certification. This allows providers who are no longer providing EMS services to retain their certification without the need to complete continuing education. Complete the form below and send to the Board of EMS, along with the $10 fee to change your status to “Inactive – Ineligible to Practice”.

Providers with this status will still be required to renew on a biannual basis and pay fees as required. If a provider with this status later wishes to return to practice, they can do so by completing the required CE hours, applying for reinstatement, and paying the applicable fees.

Board of EMS Committee Meetings are open to the public. However, see below for COVID restrictions on attendance. Specific times and agendas for committee meetings, including virtual attendance options, are available on the Board website here: KBEMS meeting Schedules and Agendas

Please note the location for these meetings is:

Landon State Office Building, Room 509
900 SW Jackson
Topeka, KS 66612

MASKS will be required!

Thank you for your continued understanding. We all hoped for a return to full capacity, but in order to maintain compliance with Shawnee County and the State of Kansas guidance related to meetings within state-owned properties and public areas, we must limit physical attendance at these meetings to primarily board members, agency staff, and those with scheduled business before the Board. Members of the public are encouraged to attend virtually as capacity is extremely limited. The Board strongly believes that transparency and open government are paramount and holds firm upon the importance of the public to have an ability to observe and comment upon the Board proceedings and to provide comment and insight upon items appearing on the agendas. Refer to each meeting agenda for direction to submit any comments.
