Responds to fire alarms & other emergency calls to protect life & property by combating, extinguishing & preventing fires; gives care and transport the sick and or injured persons; participates in fire prevention programs, inspection, training activities, maintenance of fire & EMS apparatus & equipment & stations.

* National Registry or Kansas EMT/AEMT/Paramedic certification & maintain certification
* Firefighter 1 with Hazmat Operations certifications in the State of Kansas or equivalent International Fire Service Training Association with International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or Pro Board Certification preferred
* Must be eighteen (18) years of age at time of appointment
* Must live within 15-minute response time
* Must possess a valid Kansas Class B driver’s license, or obtain within (1) one year of appointment

Pottawatomie County Emergency Medical Services (PCEMS) is seeking highly motivated individuals for full-time and PRN Paramedic position(s).

Pottawatomie County Emergency Medical Services (PCEMS) provides full-time advanced life support ambulance service to one of the fastest growing counties in Kansas. PCEMS covers over 800 square miles of diverse territory to include Pottawatomie County within the city limits of Manhattan, KS.

Our team members work a “48/96” rotation which enables them to enjoy the opportunity to work 48 hours followed by 96 hours off – then the shift repeats. Pottawatomie County does NOT have a residency requirement for EMS personnel. Pottawatomie County EMS currently staffs 5 ambulance stations and responds to over 2,000 calls for service annually.

As a PCEMS team member you’ll enjoy a positive working atmosphere and modern equipment such as Zoll cardiac monitors, power cots with the power load system, and Auto-Pulse’s. Along with the many Pottawatomie County employee benefits is the Kansas Police and Fire (KP&F) retirement plan.

Full-time and PRN Shifts Available.
Minimum Starting Rate is dependent on position.
Approximate annual gross income:
EMT = $39,936.00 ($12.00/hr)
AEMT =$42,432.00 ($12.75/hr)
Paramedic = $49,088.00 ($14.75/hr) DOQ.

Full-time includes excellent benefits (health insurance, paid time off, KPERS/KP&F retirement, overtime paid after 40 hours per week, and more)
Position Responsibilities: Provides emergency medical treatment in a pre-hospital setting, performing basic and advanced life support to the sick and injured.
Education Required: A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, or graduation from a vocational school is preferred. Must be Kansas Certified and/or hold National Registration as a Paramedic
Special Requirements: Valid driver’s license.

Ellis County Emergency Medical Services is currently accepting applications for Paramedic, AEMT and EMT team members. We currently have both full-time and part-time positions available. Positions are Non-exempt under FLSA. Full-time members work a Kelly Shift Schedule with the work day starting at 0800 hours. Members work an average of 10 days per month. Part-time members are required to work a minimum of 24 hours a month. Monthly overtime opportunities are available for all members with scheduling of sports standbys, transfers and open hours that become available at various times. Stafford County Emergency Services has an opening for a full time EMT and a full time Advanced level provider. Stafford County Emergency Services serves a rural population of approximately 4,208 people throughout a 792 square mile service area with a call volume of 400 calls per year. The department works under protocols designed to provide care to patients in a rural setting. With prolonged transport times and bypass protocols, our EMS personnel must have strong critical thinking skills and be comfortable caring for patients for long periods of time.

Qualified applicants should possess a Kansas EMT certification at a minimum, current CPR certification, and valid Kansas drivers license. Salary is commensurate with experience and education.

This position meets all the requirements set forth by the Kansas Board of EMS for the position of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Under the general supervision of the paramedic/shift supervisor, the EMT is expected to meet the urgent health care needs of all patients regardless of age or co-morbidity, consistent with their defined scope of practice. The EMT performs basic life support skills under the direction of the paramedic. The EMT must be able to exercise considerable judgment, problem-solving and decision making skills. The EMT provides out-of-hospital medical care to those with urgent needs, and is a component of the overall healthcare system. The EMT delivers care as part of a system intended to decrease the morbidity associated with sudden illness and injury. Work is performed with a substantial degree of independence within the framework of prescribed policies and procedures and under the general supervision of the paramedic/shift supervisor and the EMS Director.

Russell County EMS is accepting applications for part-time and PRN staff.Applicants must possess a valid Kansas Driver’s License, Kansas EMT/AEMT/Paramedic certification, and current CPR. ALS providers are also required to have ACLS and PALS.RCEMS operates 24-hour shifts from 0800-0800. While there is no minimum number of shifts required per month, part-time staff will generally be expected to work 2-3 shifts per month. Shifts are scheduled based on the availability turned in by the employee, so flexibility in scheduling is provided.
