The EMT performs basic life support skills under the direction of the paramedic. The EMT must be able to exercise considerable judgment, problem-solving and decision making skills. The EMT provides out-of-hospital medical care to those with urgent needs, and is a component of the overall healthcare system. The EMT delivers care as part of a system intended to decrease the morbidity associated with sudden illness and injury. Work is performed with a substantial degree of independence within the framework of prescribed policies and procedures and under the general supervision of the paramedic/shift supervisor and the EMS Director.

* Must project professionalism, and a consistently friendly demeanor while interacting with internal and external guests
* Responds to medical situations and renders first aid/BLS for Team Members and guests as allowed by license
* Escorts all internal money transfers throughout Prairie Band Casino & Resort facility
* Safeguards Prairie Band Casino’s assets
* Enforces Tribal State Gaming Regulations including the System of Internal Controls and Emergency Operating Procedures
* Prepares Accident Reports, Medical Reports and Security Incident Reports
* Escorts Gaming chips, coin and cash
* Monitors the collecting and transporting of Drop Boxes to the storage area
* Reports improper or illegal acts or suspected improper or illegal acts to the Security Supervisor or Security Shift Manager
* May train new Security Officers and/or Security Officer EMT’s as necessary
* Resolves service problems including difficult situations according to guidelines
* Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly working environment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Required
* Must be at least 18 years of age
* High School graduate or equivalent
* Current EMT license or above issued by State of Kansas
* Basic mathematic proficiency
* General knowledge of basic computer skills
* Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English, bi-lingual a plus
* Must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team
* Must adhere to the professional appearance standard as outlined in the Prairie Band Casino & Resort Team Member Handbook

Coffey County EMS, a division of Coffey Health System, is accepting applications for the position of full-time Paramedic. We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team. CCEMS is a progressive, hospital based, Type 1 service that runs approximately 1600 calls per year out of 1 station. We have no on call policy or living restrictions. CCEMS works 48/96 schedule.

The qualified applicant must have good communication skills and work well with a variety of health care professionals. The qualified applicant will be paired with an AEMT and should be comfortable with liberal protocols. The qualified applicant shall also have a valid driver’s license, and current certification as a Paramedic or be able to obtain it. Current EMT’s or AEMT’s nearing the end of a Paramedic program may be considered. Upon receiving an offer of employment, applicant must pass a background check, pre employment physical and urine drug screen.

Benefits include:
Competitive Wage based on experience. Starting wage is $50,280 per year and is more based on Medic experience.
