Lincoln County EMS is accepting applications for a Part-Time, with the potential of Full-Time Ambulance Director

We are looking for a motivated, committed individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive EMS operational knowledge, along with supervisory/management experience. Applicants must possess a valid Kansas Driver’s License and, at minimum, current EMT Kansas certification. A physical capacity profile must be completed by successful candidate.

Under the administrative supervision of the Lincoln Board of County Commissioners, the EMS Services Director is a non-exempt position under the FLSA. This employee is responsible for the administrative and supervisory responsibilities for the coordination and supervision of the department. The employee in this position schedules and trains personnel in emergency medical procedures and oversees the smooth operation of the department. The EMS Director works with various health, fire, & law enforcement agencies in providing continuing education and public relations for emergency medical services. This employee supervises the staffing and training of full-time and part-time employees, as well as volunteers.

EXPERIENCE: Three years of Emergency Medical Technician experience is required.
Employee is expected to have necessary information and skills to perform the job well within six
months of employment.
EDUCATION: A technical degree or some post-secondary education is preferred.
Employee must have current Kansas EMTA certification and a valid Kansas Driver’s license.
Continuing education is required.

The Industrial Firefighter shall serve as part of an Industrial Fire Brigade. The Firefighter will report directly to their Fire Captain. The Salina Fire Department is a Premier Fire Department in the State of Kansas with a fire based EMS system. We serve Salina, Saline County, and the North Central Region of Kansas from four stations with 90+ personnel. We average 9000+ alarms for service annually, including city fire suppression, city / county / regional emergency medical services, regional technical rescue, and regional hazmat response. The city offers a generous benefit package and competitive wages.Duties: Responds to fire alarms and other emergency calls to protect life and property by combatting, extinguishing and preventing fires; gives basic life support care to sick or injured persons; participates in fire prevention programs, inspections, training activities, maintenance of fire and EMS equipment and stations.

Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.

Certification Requirements: National Registry or Kansas EMT certification and maintain certification; Current Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) within the prior year; Current written Fire Service Exam with a score of 70% or better within the prior two years; Firefighter 1 & 2 with Hazmat Operations certifications in the State of Kansas or equivalent International Fire Service Training Association with International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or Pro Board Certification; NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800.

Requirements: Must be eighteen (18) years of age at time of appointment; must live within 40-minutes response time; must possess a valid Kansas Class B driver’s license or obtain within one year of appointment; must pass the City of Salina’s pre-employment physical and drug screening prior to final offer. Successful candidates are prohibited from smoking or using tobacco products at any time, on or off the job.

Pay: $39,333 – 62,812 / yr.
