The Wellington Fire & EMS Department is accepting applications for Firefighter/EMT or Firefighter/Paramedic position. Applicants must be currently certified as a Kansas EMT or will be certified as a paramedic by December 2017. Applicants must be an IFSAC or Pro Board certified Firefighter I or the ability to obtain that certification within 12 months. Interviews and physical ability test will be scheduled shortly after the application deadline.

Starting base salary for a Firefighter/EMT is $33,476, and Firefighter/Paramedic is $40,149. There is a salary step increase after 6 months based on evaluation.

Wellington Fire & EMS employs 20 full time personnel. The department responds on an average to 1400 EMS calls and 1200 fire calls annually. Staff work 24 hour shifts and must reside within 15 miles of the fire station within 6 months.

10/03/2017 Johnson County EMC EMS System Education and Clinical Practice Coordinator
The Johnson County Emergency Management and Communications (EMC) department is recruiting for an EMS System Education and Clinical Practice Coordinator. This position creates, maintains and administers a comprehensive EMS System Education Program for EMS providers in the JOCO EMS System who participate in System-wide EMS training. This role creates educational content and coordinates quarterly skills and simulation training with EMS and Fire agencies in JOCO; creates and coordinates distance education through various platforms and collaborates with EMS System Educators in the dissemination of educational content. This position ensures compliance with state EMS regulations pertinent to education as well as maintains a long-term provider status for continuing education at the EMC. This position creates, maintains and administers a comprehensive credentialing program for EMS providers who provide patient care in the EMS System. This position participates and supports existing clinical registries maintained at the Medical Director Program. This position participates in EMS research activities as well as assists the EMS Medical Director Program Manager with QA/CQI related activities. Additional duties include:
• Creates, maintains and administers EMS System provider Credentialing program to include develops validated competency examinations, proctors/administers exams, creates high-fidelity simulation scenarios, creates skills objectives and processes for verifying competency, tracks provider credentialing portfolios, maintains credentialing website; procures equipment and maintains credentialing program data.
• Ensures compliance with state board of EMS regulations regarding EMS education to include acts as liaison to Board of EMS Education Committee for EMS System; maintains long term provider of Continuing Education for EMC; manages EMS continuing education documents including rosters, and disseminates and tracks provider certificates.
• Acts as liaison to JOCO Training Chiefs Committee, and participates in the following: CQI/QA committee, protocol committee, MARCER and appropriate sub-committees. Assists Program Manager with maintenance of clinical registries through data entry and report generation for stakeholders. Conducts and participates in EMS Research. Provides patient care and observes care through field ride-a-longs with EMS agencies and/or Medical Director.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Public Health, Public Administration, Clinical Research or other relevant field of study; certification as a Kansas Paramedic or registered as an EMT-Paramedic or Paramedic by the National Registry; three (3) years of experience as a paramedic; and three (3) years experience of EMS Education at the ALS level.
A Master’s degree in Education, Public Health, Public Administration, Clinical Research or other relevant field of study is preferred.
Experience may substitute for education and education may substitute for experience.

Russell County EMS is accepting applications for a full time and/or part time Paramedic/AEMT/EMT.

RCEMS is a type 1 service located in the City of Russell providing service to the entire Russell County.

Applicants must possess a valid Kansas Driver’s License, Kansas EMT/AEMT/Paramedic certification, and current CPR. ALS providers will also be required to be current on ACLS, and preferred to also have PALS/PEPP.

Additional qualifications that will be considered are AHA BLS, HS, ACLS, PALS instructors, as well as Kansas I/C.

RCEMS operates on 24 hour shifts on a rotating schedule, with full time positions working 48 hours per week, with overtime paid after 40 hours. Full time positions offer a full benefits package. Part-time positions benefit from flexible scheduling.

Coffey County EMS is a progressive, hospital based, Advanced Life Support service that runs approximately 1400 calls per year out of one station. Being in a rural area, our critical care transport times can be anywhere from 15 to 90 minutes, which will challenge your critical thinking skills. We also help out in the hospital as members of the Rapid Response Team. CCEMS has two crews on duty at all times, and works 24 hour shifts consisting of 24 hours on, 24 hours off, 24 hours on, 24 hours off, 24 hours on, 96 hours off. We have no on-call policy or living restrictions. Shifts begin and end at 7 a.m.
