04/15/2014 City of Winfield Fire/EMS EMS Coordinator

City of Winfield Fire/EMS Department looking for an experienced, self-motivated and team-centered individual to fill its EMS Coordinator position. This position will require the candidate to be competent and experienced in both fire and EMS, a demonstrated ability to teach others and a proven record of sound leadership and decision making skills.

Job Description:
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

Under direction, manages and oversees all aspects of the City’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program within the Fire Department; performs a variety of staff functions in planning, organizing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating, all technical and administrative aspects of the paramedic and other EMS activities of the Fire Department and the City of Winfield; coordinates assigned activities with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies; and designs, implements, and monitors Continuous Quality Improvement Programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Licensure, or Certification

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Education/Training: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, public administration, education, health care or a related field.

Experience: Five years of experience in the Emergency Medical Services Field as either an EMT-P or an MICT.

License or Certificate - Possession of an appropriate, valid driver’s license. Must possess and maintain current licensure in Kansas, and accreditation as an EMT-P, an MICT, or a PA. Must be able to obtain and maintain status as an approved provider of ALS and BLS continuing education in Kansas.

03/10/2014 Trego County EMS Full time EMS Positions

Trego County EMS is now accepting applications for 2 full-time positions as an EMT. Incentive is available for higher level certifications. Trego County EMS is a county based Type IIA service. We are the only ambulance service in Trego County.  We provide 911 services for 900 square miles including Cedar Bluff Reservoir plus inter-facility transfers for several hospitals in the area.

Qualified applicants should display excellent written and verbal communications skills in English (multi-lingual considered a plus), be a self-starter, work well in adverse conditions with limited resources, be comfortable with extended patient management, able to work with patients ranging from newborn to senior citizen, able to work with patient weights from 1 pound to 700 pounds, and function with progressive Standing Orders. Experience is preferred, but not required. Applicants must possess a valid Kansas Drivers License and a current Kansas EMT Certificate with any necessary transitions completed or have the ability to obtain within 30 days at start of employment. All levels are required to have CPR certification with higher levels requiring addition certifications (PHTLS considered a plus). Full Time personnel are required to live within 5 minutes from the Station and will receive hourly pay and call time pay, insurance, KPERS, and more.  Post offer drug screening and physical exam required.

02/27/2014 The City of Winfield Firefighter / Paramedic

The City of Winfield is hiring Firefighter/MICT positions. There
are multiple positions; starting salary is competitive and benefits are great.
CLASS TITLE: Firefighter/MICTESSENTIAL DUTIES ARE: Responds to fire,
rescue, medical, and other emergency calls. Assists in the suppression of fires
including rescue, forcible entry, ventilation, and salvage/overhaul work.
Performs first aid or Mobile Intensive Care Technician duties as certified.
Ensures that the Incident Management System is implemented on emergency
responses.

OTHER DUTIES INCLUDE: This position requires substantial
contact with the public and fellow employees. Duties occasionally require heavy
physical work, contact with undesirable physical conditions, and hazards
requiring constant safety considerations.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED equivalent; at least 18
years of age; possession of a valid State of Kansas driver’s license; must
obtain a Kansas non-commercial Class B driver’s license within 120 days of
hiring; current Kansas MICT certification required; current national Fire
Fighter I certification and current CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test) card
preferred.

EMT, AEMT or Paramedic

Rawlins County EMS is now accepting applications for 2 full-time position as an EMT, AEMT or Paramedic.  Rawlins County EMS is a Type IIA service and we are the primary 911 service for Rawlins County.  Qualified applicants should display excellent written and verbal communications skills, be highly motivated, work well under pressure, be comfortable with extended patient management, confident in decision-making, and highly functional with progressive Standing Orders. Experience is preferred, but not required.

Applicants must possess a valid Ks DL and is current Kansas Certified as an EMT, AEMT or Paramedic.  AEMT and/or Paramedic must have ACLS, and all levels are required to have CPR certifications and be willing to become AHA instructor.

Full Time personnel are required to live within 5 min from the Station and will receive hourly pay and call time pay, insurance, KPERS, cafeteria and more.
