08/16/2016 Wellington Fire & EMS Firefighter/EMT or Firefighter/Paramedic
The Wellington Fire & EMS Department is accepting applications for Firefighter/EMT or Firefighter/Paramedic position. Applicants must be currently certified as a Kansas EMT or will be certified as a paramedic by December of 2016.

Applicants must be an IFSAC or Pro Board certified Firefighter I or the ability to obtain that certification within 12 months. Interviews and physical ability test will be scheduled shortly after the application deadline.

Starting base salary for a Firefighter/EMT is $32,819 and Firefighter/Paramedic is $40,533. Salary step increase after 6 months based on evaluation.

Wellington Fire & EMS employs 20 full time personnel. The department responds on an average to 1300 EMS calls and 1100 fire calls annually. Staff work 24 hour shifts and must reside within 15 miles of the fire station within 6 months.
