07/02/2014 Trego County EMS POSITION TITLE:Trego County EMS has immediate openings for EMT’s. Career staff work a 48/96 rotating schedule with additional call back time. Benefits include medical & dental insurance, life insurance, KPERS, holiday pay, paid vacation and sick leave. Entry level pay is approx $34,000 with duty and call back pay.

Stipulations do apply. You have to be a Kansas certified EMT or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire, must have a current and valid driver’s license, must comply with county drug and alcohol testing program, must have the ability to read & write in English, must be able to use a computer for electronic patient records and live within 5 minutes response to the station. Starting annual salary $49,737 to $70,609 DOQ for this 40-hr position. This is specialized technical and supervisory work in the development, administration, and maintenance of the Fire Department Medical Training Program; the certification of commissioned personnel in any required medical training; and insurance of quality control of all medical calls. Work is directed and reviewed through the establishment of goals and subsequent evaluation of progress toward goal attainment. Required experience and training includes graduation from a four-year college with courses in fire science, emergency health care or related fields, plus four years of experience in emergency medical care. 06/25/2014 City of Emporia POSITION TITLE:              Firefighter/EMT (Part-Time)BEGINNING SALARY:     $11.73 per hour DESCRIPTION OF JOB Under the supervision of a Fire Captain, the Firefighter/EMT performs specialized work in the prevention and suppression of fires and providing life saving services (EMS). Firefighting work includes combating, extinguishing and preventing fires, operating and maintaining fire department equipment and apparatus. EMT duties include responding with ambulance service to emergency medical service calls, transporting sick and injured persons in response area. Duties follow prescribed policies and procedures, but independent judgment may be required in certain circumstances.STANDARDS FOR INITIAL CONSIDERATION

.   Must be at least 18 years of age.

.   Available for written and physical agility test on August 9, 2014.

.   Possess a minimum of a Kansas EMT-B Certification (EMTB or MICT preferred) at the time of testing.

.   Must possess valid Kansas driver’s license.

.   Must successfully complete aptitude, physical agility tests and background check.

.   Ability to communicate in a courteous manner and to work effectively with other employees, supervisors, and the public.

.   Must be able to function calmly under stressful situations.

.   Must be a non-tobacco user.

.   Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

.   Must be resident of Lyon Co. or relocate upon employment.

.   Must pass physical exam and drug screen upon conditional offer of employment.
