This position meets all the requirements set forth by the Kansas Board of EMS for the position of MICT Paramedic. The Paramedic is expected to meet the urgent health care needs of all patients regardless of age or co-morbidity, consistent with their defined scope of practice. The Paramedic must be able to exercise considerable judgment, problem-solving, and decision making skills. The Paramedic provides out-of-hospital medical care to those with urgent needs, and is a component of the overall healthcare system. The Paramedic delivers care as part of a system intended to decrease the morbidity associated with sudden illness and injury. Work is performed under general supervision of the EMS Service Director.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Current & valid Kansas Paramedic certificate,
CPR/BLS provider certification,
ACLS certification,
Class C operator’s license are required.

Employee is expected to have acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to perform at an acceptable level within six months of being awarded the position.
Morris County conducts background checks and drug screening on all potential candidates.
Rotating 24-Hour Shifts, evenings, weekends, holidays are required. Overtime may be required.
$15.50 per hour depending on qualifications.

Lincoln County is accepting applications for a Kansas Certified part-time EMT/AEMT/Paramedic. This employee is responsible for providing emergency medical treatment in a pre-hospital setting and basic life support to the sick and injured.
Applicants must possess a valid Kansas Driver’s License and current Kansas EMT/AEMT/Paramedic certification. One year of experience is preferred. Part-time staff are offered 12 or 24 hour shifts. Part-time employees are limited to working 999 hours per year.

Grant County is accepting applications for the position of Emergency Medical Service Director.Under the general supervision of County Commissioners, the EMS Director performs administrative and field duties to provide emergency care and critical care transportation. Supervising the management of the department, budget administration, and resolving personnel issues and citizen concerns are the primary responsibilities of this position. Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the operations supervisor will be responsible for internal communication between field staff and management, outside agency interface, system status monitoring, drafting, implementing and coordination of employee schedules and deployment models, equipment and supply maintenance, as well as other operational support functions as assigned by the Manager of Operations. The City of Clearwater is accepting applications for the recently created position of Director of Emergency Services.The Director of Emergency Services performs administrative and field duties for the EMS and Fire divisions of the Emergency Services Department. Supervising the management of the department, budget administration, and resolving personnel issues and citizen concerns are the primary responsibilities of this position. This position is responsible for the operation of all ambulances, fire response units, medical and fire equipment, and other apparatus for the protection of life, property and civil defense. The employee in this position performs emergency life-saving services and fire scene management in the performance of their duties. This employee should be in excellent physical condition and have the ability to remain poised under extremely difficult and hazardous circumstances. This employee should possess a strong organizational and management aptitude, with excellent communication and public relation skills.

The desired candidate is required to be a state board certified Paramedic/Firefighter (Instructor/Trainer preferred) with a minimum of five years’ experience, (three of which are supervisory in nature) with a minimum education requirement of an Associate’s Degree in Health or Fire Science or a related field.

Thomas County EMS is currently accepting applications for full time Paramedics, AEMTs, and EMTs. Licensed EMT candidates wishing employment with Thomas County EMS should be willing to enroll in and complete AEMT or Paramedic training at the earliest opportunity. Additional preference will be given to candidates who possess I/C or TO certification in the State of Kansas.Thomas County EMS is also continually accepting applications for volunteer positions at the EMT, AEMT, Paramedic and RN level.
Thomas County is located 50 miles east of Colorado and 50 miles south of Nebraska on the high plains of western Kansas. Thomas County EMS covers 1000 square miles with an ALS system that generates 800+ calls per year with stations in Colby, Brewster and Rexford. You will be working in a combination career/volunteer system responding to both 911 and inter-facility transfers. We seek highly motivated persons who enjoy, and are comfortable with, patient care situations which may extend up to 3 hours.

Thomas County EMS shifting is 24 on, 48 off, 16 on, 72 off model. Additional call hours outside of regular shifting as well as inter-facility transfers and standbys provide an opportunity for overtime. Salary is commensurate with experience. KPERS, Health and Dental (single 100% paid), 457b, paid sick leave and vacation earned at 8 hours per month round out the benefit package. In house continuing education including AHA and NAEMT classes is provided through Thomas County EMS Education.
