Pottawatomie County is seeking applicants for EMS Director

Position Responsibilities: Responsible for the day-to-day operations and administration of the Pottawatomie County Emergency Medical Services. Plans, organizes, coordinates, and evaluates functioning of ambulance service; ensures appropriate training and supervision of staff to insure delivery of consistent, high quality care. This position is also a working member of the EMS staff responsible for daily coverage, and emergency responses.
Education/Experience Required: Bachelor’s Degree in medical sciences or related field required. Five (5) years’ advanced life support and supervisory experience needed, an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
Special Requirements: Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, and be certified by the Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services (KSBEMS) as a Paramedic in good standing throughout employment. Must be BLS Provider certified from the American Heart Association (AHA) upon employment, and must have or obtain within 180 days of employment certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, plus Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) OR Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC).

This position meets all the requirements set forth by the Kansas Board of EMS for the position of MICT Paramedic. The Paramedic is expected to meet the urgent health care needs of all patients regardless of age or co-morbidity, consistent with their defined scope of practice. The Paramedic must be able to exercise considerable judgment, problem-solving, and decision making skills. The Paramedic provides out-of-hospital medical care to those with urgent needs, and is a component of the overall healthcare system. The Paramedic delivers care as part of a system intended to decrease the morbidity associated with sudden illness and injury. Work is performed under general supervision of the EMS Service Director.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Current & valid Kansas Paramedic certificate,
CPR/BLS provider certification,
ACLS certification,
Class C operator’s license are required.

Employee is expected to have acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to perform at an acceptable level within six months of being awarded the position.
Morris County conducts background checks and drug screening on all potential candidates.
Rotating 24-Hour Shifts, evenings, weekends, holidays are required. Overtime may be required.
$15.50 per hour depending on qualifications.

Part-Time EMT – AEMT or Paramedic
Lincoln County is accepting applications for a Kansas Certified part-time EMT/AEMT/Paramedic. This employee is responsible for providing emergency medical treatment in a pre-hospital setting and basic life support to the sick and injured.
Applicants must possess a valid Kansas Driver’s License and current Kansas EMT/AEMT/Paramedic certification. One year of experience is preferred. Part-time staff are offered 12 or 24 hour shifts. Part-time employees are limited to working 999 hours per year.
