The primary responsibility of the AEMT is to respond to emergency calls and, in participation with the physician or PA, to determine and initiate appropriate emergency care required in the pre-hospital setting. This includes:

  • Prompt response to all ambulance calls;
  • Control at the scene;
  • Prompt and efficient care of the patient before transport;
  • Preparation for transfer;
  • Orderly transfer of the patient to a medical facility;
  • Maintaining radio communication with the hospital;
  • Perform CPR, per BLS protocol;
  • Perform all duties of EMT according to protocol.

Requires a KS AEMT certification, current KS driver’s license with no restrictions limiting driving, and must pass pre-employment/post-offer physical.

  • Perform all duties of EMT.
