NEW OPERATIONAL REGULATIONS -- Effective January 27th, 2012
Here are some of the major changes that services should be aware of with the passage of the new operational regulations.
The operator is required to notify the board of service director changes within 7 days.
The service director is responsible for notifying the Board of the addition or removal of attendants to/or from their roster within 90 days of the change.
The service director is responsible for notifying the Board of resignation, termination, or incapacity/death of the medical director within 30 days of the event.
Realize that although 109-2-4 has been revoked, those requirements have been moved into other regulations.
The patients name was removed from the daily response log.
QA documents will now have to be retained by the service for three years to be consistent with retention of other required documents.
Four additional operational protocol will be required; management of firearms, mutual aid agreements, patient confidentiality, and extrication of persons from entrapment.
Medical protocol will also include pediatric protocols.
Two fire extinguishers shall be secured; one easily accessible by the driver and one easily accessible by the attendant.
O2 tanks will have to have a minimum of two hundred psi.
Medications have to be currently dated.
