The Board committees will meet on Thursday, October 11th, Room 582-N of the Kansas Statehouse (note the different location). The meeting of the full board will be Friday, October 12th, Room 509 of the Landon Building (our normal location).

NHTSA Campaign- The Dangers of Drugged Driving

NHTSA is rolling out a new and ambitious public education campaign about the dangers of drugged driving. The taglines are “If You Feel Different, You Drive Different” and “Drive High – Get a DUI”. Later in August states will be encouraged to conduct rollouts and press events, and throughout September multiple social media releases will occur. All national associations partnering with NHTSA, including NASEMSO, are being asked to distribute information to their members in the hopes of getting the widest possible uptake. The Kansas Board of EMS invites you to participate in a Stakeholders Meeting in Colby, KS, on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 @ 1800. The purpose of this meeting is to collaborate on a plan to credential and regulate non-transporting entities that provide out-of-hospital medical care.

This meeting is scheduled to be held at the Colby Fire Dept., 1125 S Country Club Dr, Colby, KS. Please email James Reed (james.reed@ks.gov) if you plan on attending.

We look forward to having you participate in this meeting so that the Board has information that not only addresses the agency’s and Board’s input and needs, but also addresses our stakeholders’ input. If you have any specific ideas that you would like considered at this meeting, but you may be unable to attend, please contact James Reed so that your ideas can be presented to the group.
